I leave you with Koyaanisqatsi , an awe–inspiring film whose visuals are as powerful today as they were when the film was released in 1982. The scene of note is a montage of traffic at 25:32, inviting the viewer to ponder its scale and complexity. It goes great with a bowl or two…

Of cereal, naturally! Accompanied by Philip Glass’ excellent score, the whole film itself is quite a treat, and worth a proper viewing in my opinion. There are lots of other good scenes featuring cars, car factories, traffic, planes, that sort of thing as well. Post any interesting spots in the comments, or let me know what you think. Night!

Note: if you start from the beginning it may creep you out, especially if you are enjoying bowls of cereal.

I love Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi so much. I have the Criterion Bluray set. SO GOOD. Unfortunately Naqoyqatsi has not stood the test of time like the first two films have.

1967 or 68 Camaro on the right. 1971, 72, or 73 Chevelle or El Camino on the left. I think of all the great 60’s and 70’s cars on the road back then and there weren’t too many that I could pick out there as keepers. Just goes to show how many others there were.

I lived in California then and was driving. Didn’t see me or any of my friends in there though.
